Privacy Policy — Trim Match
Bottom line
We collect what we need to run your trial, bill your subscription, and make the tool work on the lot. We do not sell your data. If you want it gone, ask — we delete what we control.
Who this covers
This policy applies to Trim Match on trim-match.com, the checkout flow, and related product pages (including /app/, /get-started/, and share/referral links).
Trim Match is built for dealership teams — sales, BDC, managers, service. If you use the product, this policy applies to you.
What we collect
Account and checkout
- Mobile phone number — default way to start a trial
- Email address — if you choose email instead of phone
- Payment details — handled by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. Stripe processes the charge and sends us subscription status.
Product use
- Trim selections and comparisons — models, trims, and diffs you run so the tool can show results and share cards
- Referral codes / deep-link tags — so we know who shared Trim Match with whom (rep codes, UTM-style tags on share links)
- Share and challenge activity — when you generate a share card, open a referral link, or run a challenge (used for product and growth analytics)
Device and site basics
- Technical logs — IP address, browser/device type, pages loaded, timestamps, error logs
- Local storage on your device — trial/entitlement flags and app preferences so the PWA works between visits
- Analytics — privacy-oriented traffic tools (e.g. Plausible) and, if enabled, standard web analytics (page views, outbound clicks). We use this to see what breaks and what converts — not to build a dossier on you.
What we do not collect on purpose
- Your customer’s personal data from the dealership DMS
- Full payment card numbers (Stripe handles that)
- Precise GPS location
- Contacts from your phone book
If you paste customer info into a free-text field or share card note, treat that as your choice — don’t put private customer data in the tool unless you mean to.
How we use it
- Run your 3-day free trial and $2.99/week subscription
- Authenticate access and unlock paid features after Stripe confirms payment
- Show trim diffs, one-liners, and share cards
- Attribute referrals and measure whether the product spreads on the floor
- Fix bugs, fight abuse, and keep billing accurate
- Reply when you contact us
We use your data to operate Trim Match. We do not sell it. We do not rent it. We do not hand it to data brokers.
Who we share it with
Only vendors that help us run the product:
| Partner | Why |
|---|---|
| Stripe | Checkout, trials, recurring billing, receipts |
| Hosting / edge (e.g. Cloudflare Pages and related infrastructure) | Serve the site and app |
| Database / API hosts (e.g. Neon, Railway, or successors we use to store accounts) | Persist accounts, entitlements, product events |
| Auth providers (if/when account login is enabled, e.g. Clerk) | Sign-in and session security |
| Analytics (e.g. Plausible; GA only if configured) | Traffic and funnel metrics |
| Email/SMS infrastructure (if we message you about your account) | Transactional notices only |
We may also share data if the law requires it, or if needed to stop fraud or protect the service.
Asbury AI Solutions operates Trim Match. Internal access is limited to people who need it to build, support, or bill the product.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as a business model.
Cookies and local storage
We use what the product needs:
- Essential — checkout session, trial/subscription flags, basic security
- Preferences — so the app remembers how you left it
- Analytics — aggregate usage, not ad retargeting networks as the product’s business
You can clear site data in your browser. That may log you out of a trial or reset local flags.
How long we keep it
- Active subscribers — while your account is active, plus a short period after cancel so we can reinstate or resolve billing questions
- Billing records — as long as tax and accounting rules require
- Analytics and logs — kept only as long as useful for ops, then deleted or aggregated
- Referral events — kept to measure product growth; we can purge on request where feasible
When data is no longer needed, we delete it or strip it so it no longer identifies you.
Your choices
- Cancel anytime — stop the subscription in the billing portal / Stripe customer flow (or email us and we’ll point you there)
- Correct your email or phone — email us with the update
- Delete your data — email us and say you want your Trim Match data deleted. We will delete account and product data we control, except records we must keep for law, fraud, or accounting
- Opt out of non-essential analytics — use browser controls / content blockers; essential billing still works
If you are in a region with extra rights (access, portability, restriction, objection), email us. We will honor valid requests.
Kids
Trim Match is a work tool for dealership adults. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from kids. If you think we have, tell us and we will delete it.
Security
We use standard industry protections (HTTPS, limited access, payment data at Stripe). No system is perfect. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we will notify you and regulators as the law requires.
Spec data vs. your data
Mazda trim specs, MSRP figures, and comparison content are product content — not your personal data. Personal data is stuff about you (phone, email, billing, how you use the app).
Specs can be wrong or stale. See the Terms. That is a product accuracy issue, not a privacy sale of your information.
Changes
If we change this policy in a material way, we will update the date at the top and post the new version on trim-match.com. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.

Footer placement (for engineering)
Missing legal links are a Stripe / trust gap. Wire these into the site footer on marketing pages and the app shell:
| Link text | URL slug |
|---|---|
| Privacy | /privacy/ |
| Terms | /terms/ |
| Contact | mailto:[email protected] or /contact/ if a page exists |
Suggested footer row (left → right or stacked on mobile):
Trim Match · Asbury AI Solutions · Privacy · Terms · Start free trial · Open app
Keep the footer light theme, system fonts, one accent — Harbor Grit, not legal wallpaper.
